Investment objective for growth and jobs

This work has made it possible to remodel the existing spaces in the IDIBELL animal facility, creating a new area for immunosuppressed mice, where most of the animal models of human diseases, so necessary in the research carried out at IDIBELL and the companies with which we collaborate. The new area, with a high barrier between external and internal environments, ensures the essential requirements to carry out an excellent investigation in our facilities.

In addition, the necessary equipment has been purchased such as isolated housing racks or a CO2 euthanasia chamber to minimize and eliminate pain and ensure animal welfare to the maximum. Once the last adaptations of the new interior spaces (changing rooms) and the air shower for the entrance of the researchers are finished, the activity in the new area can be started gradually, scrupulously following the indications already marked by the CEEA and the Institutional Animal Facility Commission of IDIBELL.
