IDIBELL and Sant Joan de Déu join efforts to create the first animal model of Sturge-Weber Syndrome

The project is led by Dr. Eulàlia Baselga, Area of Dermatology of the Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona, and Dr. Mariona Graupera, Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL). Its main objective is to identify a treatment aimed at reversing or improving the vascular alterations produced by the R183Q mutation in the GNAQ gene that leads to Sturge-Weber Syndrome.
