To encourage the values of research and scientific vocations among young people, the Department of Research and Universities has produced the video “Una recerca GENial a l’IDIBELL“.

The video, hosted by YouTuber Juliana Canet and aimed at boys and girls in secondary education and the last cycles of primary education, takes a tour of the research carried out at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL).

The video gives voice to several IDIBELL junior and senior researchers: Marta Pineda, Álvaro Carmona, Mireya Plass and Cecilia Velasco. They accompany Juliana on a visit to the institute. They will discover genes and genetics, basic and applied research, and how one cannot live without the other.

Una recerca GENial a l’IDIBELL” is the second video in the RECERCLIPS collection for disseminating research and promoting interest in science among young people from the Department of Research and Universities. Each year a new video of the series will be produced, which will focus on a research center or large scientific-technical infrastructure of the Catalan system. The first RECERCLIP was dedicated to the ALBA Synchrotron and the properties of matter at the atomic and molecular scale.
