Manel Esteller appointed as Associate Editor of The Journal of the National Cancer Institute

Manel Esteller, Director of the Cancer Epigenetics and Biology Program at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL), ICREA Research Professor and Genetics Professor of the University of Barcelona has been appointed Associate Editor of The Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI).

The journal publishes peer-reviewed original research from around the world and is internationally acclaimed as the source for the most up-to-date news and information from the rapidly changing fields of cancer research and treatment since 1940.

For the past several years, the JNCI has been ranked as one of the most-cited original-research cancer journals by the Institute of Scientific Information (ISI) in its annual Journal Citation Reports with a current Impact Factor of 13.757.

Dr Esteller is the only scientist from Spain, in addition to Mariano Barbacid, and the first Catalan to be elected for that position.
