Laura and Joan are the protagonists of the story collection on research published by the Generalitat de Catalunya. At number 12 in the series “Laura and Joan at the service of a great milestone,” the young scientists help IDIBELL researchers, in the Bellvitge University Hospital, in their kidney transplantation research. El story is written by Josep Maria López Madrid and illustrated by Montse Español. The Directorate General for Research of the Generalitat de Catalunya regularly publishes this collection of stories aimed at children between 6 and 10 years, with research as its main plot. Laura and Joan are the protagonists and they use their magical powers to help researchers from different scientific fields.
