Resumen
Dual Cannabis-Tobacco Use in Individuals Undergoing Treatment for Cannabis Use Disorder in Catalonia: The DuCATA Study
Judith Saura – Tobacco Control Unit
Cannabis is the most widely used illicit substance globally and in Spain, where it is often consumed mixed with tobacco. This dual consumption intensifies psychosocial and psychiatric issues, making cessation more challenging. Despite its prevalence, knowledge about dual dependence and associated withdrawal syndromes remains limited.
Topics and Techniques Covered:
- Patterns of Dual Consumption: The study examines how cannabis and tobacco are used together, and the effects on health and treatment outcomes.
- Withdrawal Symptoms: Discussion of withdrawal symptoms experienced during attempts to reduce or quit cannabis and tobacco use.
-
Baseline Data: Presentation of baseline data from the study, which includes sociodemographic characteristics, tobacco and cannabis consumption patterns, and initial motivation to quit.
