Resumen
Jordi Guiu’s laboratory (p-cmrc.cat/research/guiu-group) focuses on understanding the behavior of intestinal epithelial cells during homeostasis and in response to injury. Our research investigates the complex interactions between immune cells and intestinal stem cells, emphasizing their unconventional roles in driving tissue regeneration. We also study how inflammation perturbs epithelial tissues at transcriptomic and epigenetic levels. By utilizing cutting-edge technologies, including patient-derived intestinal organoids, in vivo ablation of immune cells, fluorescent lineage tracing, single-cell multiomics, and 3D imaging, we are unraveling the mechanisms governing cell plasticity with the ultimate goal of developing therapies to enhance intestinal healing and repair.
