Abstract
“Does metabolism age well?” The ability to metabolise nutrients is essential for human life. This talk covers distribution, transport, cellular uptake, oxidation of substrates and ultimately, heat and energy generation. (un)healthy ageing may influence all aspects of this energy-generating chain. The influence of regularly performed exercise on the “ageing metabolism” will be discussed.
