Stephan Zipfel, MD is full professor, Medical Director and chair for Psychosomatic Medicine at the University of Tuebingen/Germany. He is Dean of the Medical School and since 2012 he is the Director of the Centre of Excellence for Eating Disorders Tuebingen (KOMET) and since 2023 Co-Chair of the German Centre for Mental Health Tuebingen. Stephan is a specialist in Internal Medicine and in Psychosomatic Medicine. He was trained in Heidelberg and Frankfurt as well as London UK and Sydney Australia. His special interest is in psychotherapy (including eHealth) and psychobiology research in eating disorders. He serves as a board member at Lancet Psychiatry, Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics and Frontiers in Psychiatry. He is the incoming president of the International College of Psychosomatic Medicine (ICPM) and the president of the 27th ICPM World Congress 2024.
