The purpose of the meeting was to tackle together certain topics on the management and monitoring of this type of biomedical research projects in a practical and effective way, focusing on the communication and publicity of the co-financing of the Structural Funds of the European Union.

The event, which had Mª Jesús Toledo and Isabel Sastre as speakers, was attended by 29 project managers from both IDIBELL and the research institutes of the Vall d’Hebron, Santa Creu and Sant Pau, Sant Joan Of Déu, IMIM, Germans Trias i Pujol, Clínic, Pere Virgili and Parc Taulí hospitals, in addition to the Josep Carreras leukemia research institute, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, IRBLleida and IDIAP Jordi Gol.

In order to encourage participation and interest, the topics to be discussed at the meeting were selected after collecting, via e-mail, the participants’ proposals. Thus, among other issues, the information and publicity channels of Structural Funds or the procurement of goods and services and their attribution to research projects granted by ISCIII were discussed. Some considerations and good practices in co-financed actions were also discussed. Throughout the meeting, participants were able to present and contrast the situation of each center regarding public procurement and internal services, and share the most common difficulties they usually encounter in order to comply with the regulations in their daily management.

The meeting is part of the Program of Workshops of small groups of work, with which the Carlos III Institute of Health aims to disseminate good practices in the management of resources coming from Europe through the European Funds for Regional Development and the European Social Fund, and at the same time establish mechanisms to identify them.
