The Bellvitge University Hospital and Only Postproduction, with the collaboration of IDIBELL, organize next Saturday, June 8, the Only Step Solidarity Challenge, the first solidarity walk in favor of brain cancer research. The walk will take place between the Forum area of Barcelona and El Masnou, on a route of about 10 km next to the beaches.

This project is part of the solidarity musical project The Symphony of Heroes and is based on an idea from Only Postproduction, which already participated in the making of the documentary about this musical project. Under the motto One euro = one step, the members of the company specialized in audiovisual post-production propose to take as many steps on Saturday, June 8, as there is money raised for brain cancer.

The walk will begin at 5:00 p.m. in Barcelona’s Plaza de Llevant, in front of the CCIB Auditorium, but it is recommended to arrive at the meeting point at 4:30 p.m. Participants will leave in the direction of Sant Adrià to take a route along the coast of about 10 km that is expected to be covered in about two and a half hours. The tour will end on Ocata beach, in El Masnou, with a performance by the musical group Dorigen, led by Dr. Andreu Gabarrós, with the participation of Judit Neddermann and other surprise guests.

To promote the initiative, the organizers have broadcasted a video on social networks in which several citizens, including well-known actors and musicians, invite people to take “one more step” for brain cancer.

How to take part

To participate in the walk, a minimum donation of €10 is requested through a registration form (https://dona.idibell.cat/onlystep). This registration entitles you to obtain a race t-shirt, participate in the walk and attend the final concert. All citizens are also offered the possibility of collaborating in this solidarity initiative by simply making a financial contribution through the same form, or, if preferred, collaborating only by purchasing the t-shirt. The organizers also invite citizens to take a photo with the hashtag #unpasomas written on the sole of the shoe and share this photo on social networks.

Once organizational expenses have been deducted, all funds collected will be allocated to brain cancer research at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL).
