On June 21st, the training session “How to support researchers in writing competitive proposals for Horizon 2020” was held at the Duran i Reynals hospital. The course, part of the ICABELL project, was taught by Dr. Sean McCarthy, expert in European funding for research projects.
The session, which had a high degree of attendance, received a very positive assessment from both the participants and IDIBELL’s management team. Raquel Egea, director of the area of innovation and business development of IDIBELL, led the welcome panel at the event, which also had representation from the scientific management.
Aimed at project managers of the Bellvitge Campus partners (IDIBELL, Catalan Institute of Oncology, University Hospital of Bellvitge and University of Barcelona), this training seeks to reinforce strategic analysis skills and provide greater added value to the research community when it comes to European funding search actions. Dr. McCarthy, a great expert and a reference within the European research system, has taught in more than 290 research entities in 29 countries, including 74 of the 100 most prestigious European research institutions and universities.
The Horizon 2020 program (H2020), launched by the European Union, is the program that funds research and innovation projects in various thematic areas in the European context, with almost 80,000M € for the 2014-2020 period. Given its importance, the level of competitiveness for H2020 fundraising keeps increasing from call to call.
The session “How to support researchers in writing competitive proposals for Horizon 2020” is part of the “ICABELL – Internationalization of biomedical research in the Bellvitge Campus” project. ICABELL is an IDIBELL initiative that will contribute to the dynamization of the international activity of the Campus partners, whose management is carried out by IDIBELL.
