The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) has recently signed a collaboration agreement with the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences of Catalonia (IMLCFC). The main objective of this agreement is to establish a collaboration between both institutions to jointly develop programs and activities linked to biomedical research, as well as to achieve significant improvements regarding training and teaching.

The IMLCFC has within its functions to carry out teaching and research activities in the field of legal and forensic medicine. In this sense, one of the main benefits of the integration with the IDIBELL is the fact that the IMLCFC professionals who carry or want to carry out studies in the field of forensic sciences can now apply for calls for competitive projects in order to get funds for their research.

The agreement also enables bi-directional feedback between researchers from both institutions. Being part of a biomedical research institute such as IDIBELL will allow IMLCFC professionals to create new research collaboration networks, expanding and boosting their field; they will also benefit from specialized technical support, with management services for their projects, training and the specialized services available at IDIBELL.
