Dr. Manel Esteller receives the Falcó Carlemany Award

Manel Esteller, director of the epigenetics and cancer biology program at IDIBELL, ICREA researcher and professor at the University of Barcelona has been awarded the Falcó Carlemany Award for the social impact of his cancer research.

The Falcó Carlemany Award is awarded to a person or entity for their contributions to relevant, high-impact social projects. The award is given by the Carlemany Foundation, an association formed by sixty-six companies from the north of Catalonia that aims to promote excellence in business management and continuous professional development through the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

The award ceremony, held yesterday in Girona, also recognized the trajectory of Andreu Mas-Colell, former Conseller of Economy and Knowledge and Director of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST), who was appointed honor partner of the Carlemany Foundation. The honorees in the previous edition of the Prize were Drs. Pere, Josep and Ramon Brugada for their research in the area of ​​cardiology.
