The prize is awarded by the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) for best European young researcher in this field in recognition of his/her career.

This is the first time the award is given to a Catalan researcher who also performs his research in Catalonia.

The award ceremony will take place on April 27th at the European Congress of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (25th ECCMID) that will be held in Copenhagen.
