La Vanguardia publishes an article on innovation, by the IDIBELL general manager

The newspaper La Vanguardia publishes today an article written by the IDIBELL general manager, Emilià Pola, warning about the low priority given to innovation in our country. Pola highlights the paradox that “while Spain is the first country in the world to perform the most complex surgeries [referring to transplantations] and our hospitals are an international reference, our surgical industry is the least of Europe”. The centre’s general manager ask why, in Spanish, the “i” stands for innovation in R&D&I (I+D+i) is written in lower case, and asks: “if now more than ever we need to lift our economy, why do we degrade the role of innovation with a lowercase?”.
