Els resultats de l\u2019estudi indiquen que la prote\u00efna NOX1, que forma part de la fam\u00edlia de NADPH oxidases, controla el creixement de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals del fetge, a trav\u00e9s de la regulaci\u00f3 de la via que activa el receptor del factor de creixement epid\u00e8rmic (EGF). Aquest receptor est\u00e0 implicat en nombrosos processos alterats en les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses com el creixement, l\u2019apoptosi (mort cel\u00b7lular programada), la diferenciaci\u00f3 i la migraci\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular.<\/p>\n
Els investigadors han demostrat que la inhibici\u00f3 de NOX1, mitjan\u00e7ant l\u2019\u00fas d\u2019ARN d\u2019interfer\u00e8ncia o d\u2019antioxidants, disminueix el creixement de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals. <\/p>\n
La primera signant de l\u2019estudi, Patricia Sancho, destaca que \u201cla NAPH oxidasa NOX1 pot ser una nova diana terap\u00e8utica per tractar el carcinoma hepatocel\u00b7lular\u201d.<\/p>\n
Aquesta malaltia \u00e9s el tipus m\u00e9s freq\u00fcent de c\u00e0ncer originat en el fetge. L\u2019aparici\u00f3 del carcinoma hepatocel\u00b7lular est\u00e0 relacionada amb diverses alteracions moleculars, tot i que la m\u00e9s evident \u00e9s l\u2019alteraci\u00f3 dels mecanismes que regulen l\u2019equilibri entre proliferaci\u00f3 i mort cel\u00b7lular.<\/p>\n
