L\u2019investigador i catedr\u00e0tic de Medicina Nuclear de la Universitat Rabdoud de Nijmegen (Holanda), Wim Oyen, ha explicat els seus aven\u00e7os en l\u2019aplicaci\u00f3 la t\u00e8cnica d\u2019imatge per FDG\/PET per millorar el diagn\u00f2stic de diverses malalties i facilitar el proc\u00e9s de decisi\u00f3 terap\u00e8utic. Ho ha fet l\u20191 de juliol en el marc dels seminaris IDIBELL.<\/strong>
<\/strong> L\u2019obtenci\u00f3 d\u2019imatges del consum de glucosa per part de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules \u00e9s la base de les t\u00e8cniques FDG\/PET. Per exemple, l\u2019exist\u00e8ncia d\u2019un consum elevat de glucosa per part de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals que augmenten la seva activitat metab\u00f2lica permet la detecci\u00f3 d\u2019aquests processos tumorals. O, en condicions normals, les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del cervell i del cor presenten un elevat consum de glucosa, per tant una disminuci\u00f3 de la captaci\u00f3 de FDG en aquestes c\u00e8l\u00b7lules facilitar\u00e0 el diagn\u00f2stic de patologies relacionades amb aquests \u00f2rgans. <\/p>\n

L\u2019equip de Wim Oyen ha coordinat diversos estudis multic\u00e8ntrics que demostren que la FDG\/PET \u00e9s \u00fatil per casos de febre d\u2019origen desconegut, infecci\u00f3 i inflamaci\u00f3 card\u00edaca, espondilitis<\/em> i en casos d\u2019infecci\u00f3 metast\u00e0tica. En aquests \u00faltims casos, Oyen ha realitzat un estudi en el qual la utilitzaci\u00f3 de FDG\/PET ha rebaixat les taxes de recaiguda entre un 12 i un 15%, i la mortalitat entre un 20 i un 35%, comparat amb <\/p>\n

individus en qu\u00e8 no es va realitzar la FDG\/PET. \u201cEs tracta de fer el millor diagn\u00f2stic en el menor temps possible\u201d ja que \u00e9s important un diagn\u00f2stic preco\u00e7 i amb l\u2019FDG\/PET es pot escanejar tot el cos, a m\u00e9s ha explicat Oyen \u201c\u00e9s molt r\u00e0pid, en una hora i mitja es poden llegir els resultats de l\u2019esc\u00e0ner i prendre decisions cl\u00edniques\u201d. <\/p>\n

Segons Oyen, les millores que aporta la imatge per FDG\/PET compensen de forma sobrada la despesa que suposa el seu \u00fas \u201cprincipalment en la rebaixa de la mortalitat per\u00f2 parlant d\u2019estalvi econ\u00f2mic, tamb\u00e9 es rebaixa l\u2019estada del pacient a l\u2019hospital, especialment la d\u2019aquells casos dif\u00edcils que no reben cap tractament mentre esperen el seu diagn\u00f2stic\u201d. <\/p>\n

En el cas de febres d\u2019origen desconegut o casos dif\u00edcils de diagnosticar el FDG\/PET pot servir, ha explicat Oyen, per orientar els facultatius cap a l\u2019origen del problema i guiar-los en el diagn\u00f2stic: \u201cSi es detecta un consum de glucosa irregular en un \u00f2rgan determinat, com a m\u00ednim saps qu\u00e8 \u00e9s el que no funciona correctament\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
