Investigadors de l\u2019IDIBELL han col\u00b7laborat en un estudi que caracteritza una prote\u00efna anomenada RBM38, clau en la regulaci\u00f3 de la mort de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals, que es desactiva en els tumors mamaris, fent-los m\u00e9s resistents a determinats tractaments de quimioter\u00e0pia.<\/strong> <\/p>\n

<\/strong> L\u2019estudi ha estat coordinat per investigadors del Netherlands Cancer Institute<\/span><\/a>. Els resultats es publiquen en el darrer n\u00famero de la revista Nature Communications<\/span><\/a>.<\/em> <\/p>\n

<\/em> La prote\u00efna p53 anomenada guardi\u00e0 del genoma s\u2019encarrega d\u2019eliminar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules premalignes.<\/p>\n

Els investigadors han descobert que la RBM38 l\u2019ajuda a exercir aquesta defensa mitjan\u00e7ant el control d\u2019unes petites mol\u00e8cules reguladores denominades microARNs. L\u2019investigador de l\u2019IDIBELL Manel Esteller ha explicat que \u201caquesta funci\u00f3 normal de RBM38\u201d que faria desapar\u00e8ixer les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules amb defectes susceptible d\u2019originar un tumor es perd en el c\u00e0ncer de mama\u201d. <\/p>\n

L\u2019estudi conclou que els tumors mamaris desactiven epigen\u00e8ticament el gen de RBM38 (es produeix una alteraci\u00f3 qu\u00edmica en l\u2019ADN del gen que codifica per aquesta prote\u00efna), de manera que no pot interactuar entre p53 i els microARns per evitar el creixement an\u00f2mal. \u201cSeria com una missi\u00f3 de pau fracassada de l\u2019ONU\u201d ha explicat Esteller. <\/p>\n

Aplicaci\u00f3 pr\u00e0ctica<\/strong> <\/p>\n

Segons Manel Esteller, aquesta troballa, a m\u00e9s d\u2019aprofundir en el coneixement dels or\u00edgens del c\u00e0ncer, tamb\u00e9 podria tenir una aplicaci\u00f3 pr\u00e0ctica. \u201cEls tumors de mama en els quals no funciona la prote\u00efna RBM38 s\u00f3n especialment resistents a determinades quimioter\u00e0pies, com les que contenen el f\u00e0rmac doxorubicina. Per tant podria ajudar a seleccionar en aquests pacients un tractament amb un altre f\u00e0rmac per maximitzar les probabilitats que els pacient respongui a la ter\u00e0pia. <\/p>\n
