Investigadors de l’IDIBELL lideren un estudi que demostra que l’expressi\u00f3 de oncoprote\u00efnes del virus del papil\u00b7loma hum\u00e0 en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare del fol\u00b7licle pil\u00f3s (regi\u00f3 de l’epidermis on es regenera el p\u00e8l) indueix el desenvolupament de carcinomes de pell. Aquests estudis posen de manifest que l’origen de determinats carcinomes de pell resideix en les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare amb una funci\u00f3 alterada.<\/p>\n
Els carcinomes escatosos de pell s\u00f3n el segon tipus de tumor epitelial m\u00e9s com\u00fa en humans. La infecci\u00f3 amb alguns tipus de papil\u00b7lomavirus hum\u00e0, juntament amb l’exposici\u00f3 al sol i certes situacions d’immunodefici\u00e8ncia, indueix el desenvolupament de carcinomes escatosos de pell. Aix\u00ed, la generaci\u00f3 pr\u00e8via de models de ratolins en qu\u00e8 s’expressen oncoprote\u00efnes del virus del papil\u00b7loma hum\u00e0 en l’epidermis demostra que aquestes prote\u00efnes virals indu\u00efen el desenvolupament espontani de carcinomes a la pell.<\/p>\n
Per determinar el paper de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare de l\u2019epidermis en el desenvolupament de tumors de pell, en aquest estudi es va utilitzar aquest model de ratol\u00ed que expressa oncoprote\u00efnes virals en els queratin\u00f2cits basals i les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare del fol\u00b7licle pil\u00f3s, i models de ratolins que permeten el tra\u00e7at dels llinatges cel\u00b7lulars (c\u00e8l\u00b7lules filles) que es produeixen a partir de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare del fol\u00b7licle. El grup liderat per Purificaci\u00f3n Mu\u00f1oz va demostrar que l’expressi\u00f3 d’aquestes oncoprote\u00efnes indueix alteracions en la funci\u00f3 de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare i promou la seva proliferaci\u00f3 i expansi\u00f3. Aquesta poblaci\u00f3 de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare s’acumula en els fol\u00b7licles pilosos i migra a altres regions de l’epidermis on, fora del seu n\u00ednxol fisiol\u00f2gic, contribueix al desenvolupament de lesions precanceroses (hiperpl\u00e0sies i displ\u00e0sies) i finalment de tumors.<\/p>\n
