Els dies 3 i 4 de desembre se celebra a l\u2019Hesperia Convention Center de L\u2019Hospitalet de Llobregat l\u2019IDIBELL Cancer Conference on Personalized Cancer Medicine. Es tracta d\u2019un congr\u00e9s sobre medicina personalitzada del c\u00e0ncer que reunir\u00e0 un centenar d\u2019investigadors de tot el m\u00f3n. L\u2019objectiu de la trobada \u00e9s posar de manifest els \u00faltims aven\u00e7os en els mecanismes biol\u00f2gics i la hist\u00f2ria natural del c\u00e0ncer que ofereix noves dianes per a la ter\u00e0pia, aix\u00ed com analitzar en profunditat els mecanismes moleculars implicats en l’estratificaci\u00f3 de les patents d’oncologia d’acord amb els marcadors moleculars recentment descrits.<\/p>\n
El congr\u00e9s ha estat organitzat pels investigadors de l\u2019IDIBELL Manel Esteller, George Thomas, Cristina Mu\u00f1oz-Pinedo i Sara Kozma. L\u2019acte compta amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 del Instituto Roche.<\/p>\n
Nous f\u00e0rmacs<\/strong><\/p>\n L\u2019aven\u00e7 m\u00e9s notable realitzat durant els darrers anys en el tractament del c\u00e0ncer ha estat la irrupci\u00f3 de nous f\u00e0rmacs que permeten una quimioter\u00e0pia m\u00e9s \u201cintel\u00b7ligent\u201d. Els primers f\u00e0rmacs basats en el coneixement de les alteracions espec\u00edfiques del nostre material gen\u00e8tic ja s\u2019estan utilitzant. S\u00f3n la punta de llan\u00e7a dels que vindran.<\/p>\n El cas m\u00e9s il\u00b7lustratiu va ser el de la leuc\u00e8mia mieloide cr\u00f2nica, un subtipus de c\u00e0ncer de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules blanques de la sang, que va passar de tenir un pron\u00f2stic molt dolent a una elevada superviv\u00e8ncia. Com es va aconseguir? Es va dissenyar un f\u00e0rmac que inhibeix una lesi\u00f3 gen\u00e8tica espec\u00edfica d\u2019aquesta leuc\u00e8mia i que no est\u00e0 present en les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules sanes, un inhibidor d\u2019una tirosina-quinasa.<\/p>\n Un altre exemple. A partir del descobriment per part d\u2019un investigador de que una quarta part de tumors de mama, en comptes de tenir dues c\u00f2pies d\u2019un gen que causa c\u00e0ncer (oncogen), en tenen m\u00e9s de vint, es van dissenyar f\u00e0rmacs que s\u2019uneixen i bloquegen aquest oncogen, cosa que va augmentar la superviv\u00e8ncia d\u2019aquestes pacients.<\/p>\n L\u2019\u00faltim exemple parteix del fet que les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del c\u00e0ncer posen un \u201cfre qu\u00edmic\u201d davant de gens inhibidors de tumors. Gr\u00e0cies a aquest descobriment, ja s\u2019utilitzen f\u00e0rmacs en leuc\u00e8mies i limfomes que treuen aquest senyal de \u201cstop\u201d i en permeten l\u2019expressi\u00f3 correcta. D\u2019aquesta manera, el tumor torna a semblar-se a un teixit normal.<\/p>\n Aquests nous f\u00e0rmacs s\u00f3n necessaris, no nom\u00e9s per curar o augmentar la superviv\u00e8ncia, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 per fer-ho amb una qualitat de vida correcta. El Congr\u00e9s del IDIBELL en Medicina Personalitzada del C\u00e0ncer posa junts als millor experts en aquesta mat\u00e8ria per a trobar noves dianes de tractament en els pacients oncol\u00f2gics.<\/p>\n Els ponents s\u00f3n cient\u00edfics destacats en el camp de l’oncologia i la recerca del c\u00e0ncer, particularment de l’estudi dels perfils gen\u00e8tics i epigen\u00e8tics que permeten personalitzar el tractament dels pacients i desenvolupar nous f\u00e0rmacs. La confer\u00e8ncia es desenvolupar\u00e0 durant dos dies i reunir\u00e0 un grup seleccionat de vint ponents i m\u00e9s de cent participants.
