L’autof\u00e0gia \u00e9s un mecanisme de protecci\u00f3 que utilitzen les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules en situacions d’estr\u00e8s. Degraden seus org\u00e0nuls i els reciclen per generar energia i sobreviure. Fins ara es creia que en totes les situacions de manca de nutrients, les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules iniciaven l’autof\u00e0gia. Un estudi de l’Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) liderat per Cristina Mu\u00f1oz-Pinedo q\u00fcestiona aquest dogma.<\/p>\n

“Hem comprovat en diverses l\u00ednies cel\u00b7lulars que la manca de glucosa no indueix l’autof\u00e0gia” ha explicat la investigadora. Els resultats de l’estudi s’han publicat a la revista Journal of Biological Chemistry. “Els inhibidors de l’autof\u00e0gia s’estan proposant com a nous f\u00e0rmacs antitumorals, ja que es creu que l’autof\u00e0gia \u00e9s un mecanisme de protecci\u00f3 de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals per poder seguir creixent en ambients pobres en nutrients” continua Mu\u00f1oz-Pinedo “i el fet que la falta de glucosa, un nutrient essencial, no condueixi a l’autof\u00e0gia fa que ens haguem de replantejar el paper d’aquest mecanisme com a resposta a la manca de nutrients “.<\/p>\n
