Un estudi internacional liderat per l\u2019investigador Miquel \u00c0ngel Pujana de l\u2019Institut d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) i de l\u2019Institut Catal\u00e0 d\u2019Oncologia (ICO) descriu un nou m\u00e8tode que podria permetre la identificaci\u00f3 d\u2019interaccions gen\u00e8tiques associades amb el risc de patir c\u00e0ncer.<\/p>\n

Els estudis d\u2019associacions gen\u00e8tiques a nivell gen\u00f2mic global (i.e. GWAS) han perm\u00e8s identificar dotzenes de variants gen\u00e8tiques comunes associades al risc de patir c\u00e0ncer en la poblaci\u00f3 general. Tot i aix\u00f2, aquestes variants nom\u00e9s expliquen una petita fracci\u00f3 de l\u2019heretabilitat de la malaltia. L\u2019altra fracci\u00f3 s\u2019atribueix a altres factors, entre el quals hi trobar\u00edem les interaccions gen\u00e8tiques. En aquest tipus d\u2019interaccions, l\u2019efecte combinat de dos al\u00b7lels\/mutacions\/gens es diferent del de cadascun d\u2019ells per separat.<\/p>\n

En l\u2019estudi que ha publicat l\u2019edici\u00f3 electr\u00f2nica de la revista Carcinogenesis es descriu com a trav\u00e9s de la integraci\u00f3 de informaci\u00f3 gen\u00e8tica obtinguda pels GWASs amb dades d\u2019expressi\u00f3 g\u00e8nica en tumors es poden identificar interaccions gen\u00e8tiques associades al risc de patir c\u00e0ncer. El m\u00e8tode s\u2019ha utilitzat en c\u00e0ncer de mama i de p\u00e0ncrees, i pot ser extensible a diferents tipus de neopl\u00e0sies incrementant aix\u00ed el coneixement sobre la heretabilitat de la malaltia.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
