Investigadors de l\u2019Institut d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge, l\u2019Institut Catal\u00e0 d\u2019Oncologia i l\u2019Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge han participat en un estudi internacional publicat a la revista Cancer Cell que descriu com els exosomes que secreten les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals contenen prote\u00efnes i mol\u00e8cules de microARN capaces de transformar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules ve\u00efnes en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals promovent el creixement del tumor. <\/p>\n

Els exosomes s\u00f3n petites ves\u00edcules que secreten totes les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules i que contenen prote\u00efnes i mol\u00e8cules d\u2019ARN missatger i microARN. En un principi es pensava que nom\u00e9s funcionaven com a magatzems de deixalles cel\u00b7lulars per\u00f2 en els \u00faltims anys s\u2019ha vist que podrien tenir una paper important com a missatger entre diverses c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de<\/p>\n

l\u2019organisme i, avui en dia, molts grups centren la seva recerca en la funci\u00f3 que podrien tenir els exosomes en diverses malalties, entre elles, el c\u00e0ncer. <\/p>\n

L\u2019estudi que publica Cancer Cell demostra que els exosomes de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals de c\u00e0ncer de mama (i tamb\u00e9 d\u2019altres tipus tumorals com ovari i endometri) s\u00f3n diferents en n\u00famero i composici\u00f3 que els de les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules sanes. Segons el cap del grup de recerca de Quimioresist\u00e8ncia i Factors predictors de resposta tumoral i medi ambient estromal de l\u2019ICO-IDIBELL, Alberto Villanueva, \u201cels exosomes tumorals contenen determinades prote\u00efnes (Dicer, TRBP i AGO2) capaces de processar els microARN que poden alterar les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules del voltant del tumor i transformar-les en tumorals\u201d <\/p>\n

El pat\u00f2leg facultatiu del Servei d\u2019Anatomia Patol\u00f2gica de l\u2019Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge August Vidal ha explicat que \u201caquesta transformaci\u00f3 tumorog\u00e8nica dep\u00e8n de la prote\u00efna Dicer que podria servir com a marcador per detectar la pres\u00e8ncia de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules tumorals, o com a diana terap\u00e8utica\u201d. <\/p>\n

Els investigadors han a\u00efllat els exosomes tant de tumors i de la sang de pacients amb c\u00e0ncer de mama, aix\u00ed com de la<\/p>\n

sang de ratolins amb tumors humans crescuts despr\u00e9s de<\/p>\n

la seva implantaci\u00f3 en la mama de ratolins, anomenats ortoxenogratfs.<\/p>\n

\u201cAquesta troballa\u201d explica Villanueva \u201cobre les portes al desenvolupament de nous biomarcadors, aix\u00ed com de noves estrat\u00e8gies terap\u00e8utiques explotant aquestes caracter\u00edstiques dels exosomes en tumors de mama, i altres tumors como el d\u2019ovari i endometri entre d\u2019altres.\u201d <\/p>\n
