Un estudi publicat a la prestigiosa revista Scientific Reports<\/em>,<\/a> del grup Nature, ha demostrat, per primera vegada, usant eines computacionals, que els l\u00edpids poliinsaturats poden alterar la velocitat d’uni\u00f3 de dos tipus de receptors involucrats en algunes malalties del sistema nervi\u00f3s. Els investigadors de la UB Francisco Ciruela i Maricel G\u00f3mez-Soler (Facultat de Medicina i IDIBELL), i Joan Carles Domingo i Bego\u00f1a Cordobilla (Facultat de Biologia) participen en aquest estudi, que ha estat liderat per investigadors del Programa de Recerca en Inform\u00e0tica Biom\u00e8dica de l\u2019Institut Hospital del Mar d’Investigacions M\u00e8diques (IMIM) i de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, juntament amb investigadors de la Universitat de Tampere (Finl\u00e0ndia). <\/p>\n

Mitjan\u00e7ant simulacions moleculars d’\u00faltima generaci\u00f3, que vindrien a ser com \u00abmicroscopis computacionals\u00bb, els investigadors han demostrat que una disminuci\u00f3 de l\u00edpids poliinsaturats en les membranes neuronals, com passa en els malalts de Parkinson o Alzheimer, afecta directament la velocitat d’uni\u00f3 dels receptors de dopamina i adenosina. Aquests receptors formen part de la fam\u00edlia dels receptors acoblats a la prote\u00efna G (GPCR), localitzats en la membrana cel\u00b7lular i encarregats de transmetre senyals a l’interior de la c\u00e8l\u00b7lula. Fins ara, diferents estudis havien demostrat que el perfil lip\u00eddic cerebral de persones amb malalties com l’Alzheimer i el Parkinson \u00e9s molt diferent del de persones sanes. Aquests estudis mostraven que els nivells d’un \u00e0cid gras poliinsaturat present en les membranes neuronals s\u00f3n considerablement m\u00e9s baixos en el cervell dels individus malalts. Els investigadors creuen que aquesta difer\u00e8ncia en la composici\u00f3 lip\u00eddica de les membranes podria alterar la forma en qu\u00e8 certes prote\u00efnes interactuen entre elles, com en el cas dels receptors GPCR. <\/p>\n

Aquests resultats permetran, en un futur, iniciar noves vies d’intervenci\u00f3 terap\u00e8utica per regular la uni\u00f3 d’aquests receptors, b\u00e9 a trav\u00e9s de la composici\u00f3 dels l\u00edpids de la membrana o b\u00e9 dissenyant nous l\u00edpids que tinguin un efecte modulador en aquesta velocitat d’uni\u00f3. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
