Aquesta decisi\u00f3 tanca el proc\u00e9s de selecci\u00f3 iniciat a juliol del 2016 despr\u00e9s de la marxa de l\u2019anterior Director de l\u2019IDIBELL, el Dr. Jaume Revent\u00f3s.<\/p>\n<p>El Dr. Capell\u00e1 es va formar \u00e9s doctor en Medicina i Cirurgia per la Universitat Aut\u00f2noma de Barcelona. Va treballar com a investigador postdoctoral al California Institute of Biological Research de La Jolla (California, EUA) i posteriorment con a investigador a l&#8217;Hospital de Sant Pau. Tamb\u00e9 ha estat professor visitant a la Universitat de Michigan. En l&#8217;\u00e0mbit assistencial, va exercir com a cirurgi\u00e0 a l&#8217;Hospital de Sant Jaume de Calella fins l&#8217;any 2001. En l&#8217;actualitat \u00e9s el cap del Programa de C\u00e0ncer Hereditari de l&#8217;ICO i tamb\u00e9 el cap de grup de C\u00e0ncer Hereditari de l&#8217;IDIBELL. La seva recerca s&#8217;ha orientat al diagn\u00f2stic molecular del c\u00e0ncer, especialment en c\u00e0ncer gastrointestinal hereditari i tamb\u00e9 espor\u00e0dic, on ha estat pioner en la incorporaci\u00f3 i validaci\u00f3 de noves tecnologies en la rutina cl\u00ednica. Tamb\u00e9 ha treballat en el desenvolupament de models avan\u00e7ats d&#8217;implantaci\u00f3 de tumors humans en ratolins inmunodeprimits. \u00c9s co-fundador de la spin-off VCN Biosciences que t\u00e9 com objectiu el disseny de noves ter\u00e0pies contra el c\u00e0ncer basades en el disseny d&#8217;adenovirus oncol\u00edtics.<\/p>\n<p>En l&#8217;\u00e0mbit de gesti\u00f3, el Dr. Capell\u00e1 va ser Director de Recerca de l&#8217;ICO i va encap\u00e7alar la Direcci\u00f3 Cient\u00edfica de l\u2019IDIBELL en el per\u00edode 2008-2012.
