El nostre Genoma est\u00e0 format pel nostre ADN (\u00c0cid Desoxirribonucleic) en forma de 6,000 milions de peces que combinen quatre “sabors”: A, C, G i T (Adenina, Citosina, Guanina i Timina). \u00c9s el nostre Abecedari. Per\u00f2 a aquesta base se suma la regulaci\u00f3 de la mateixa, que seria l’ortografia i la gram\u00e0tica d’aquest abecedari: \u00e9s el que anomenem Epigen\u00e8tica. <\/p>\n
En l’epigen\u00e8tica, destaca un senyal d’accentuaci\u00f3: la metilaci\u00f3 de l’ADN, que significa tenir una C o un metil-C. La primera sol significar que un gen aquesta expressat i actiu, mentre la segona que un gen aquesta callat i inactiu. El nostre ADN “parla” quan produeix una altra mol\u00e9cula, anomenada ARN (\u00e0cid ribonucleic). Fins fa molt poc, es creia que aquesta mol\u00e8cula nom\u00e9s era un intermediari poc regulable capa\u00e7 de produir prote\u00efnes (com la insulina, l’hemoglobina i altres) sota les ordres de l’ADN. <\/p>\n
Avui, un article publicat a Cancer Discovery<\/em> per Manel Esteller, director del Programa d’Epigen\u00e8tica i Biologia del C\u00e0ncer de l’Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL), Investigador ICREA i Professor de Gen\u00e8tica de la Universitat de Barcelona, \u200b\u200bens explica que aquest ARN tamb\u00e9 t\u00e9 una ortografia i gram\u00e0tica pr\u00f2pies, igual que l’ADN. Es tractaria de la Epigen\u00e8tica de l’ARN, tamb\u00e9 anomenada Epitranscript\u00f2mica. <\/p>\n “\u00c9s coneguda la paradoxa que de vegades l’ADN produeix un ARN per\u00f2 aquest acaba no originant la prote\u00efna. Com que en aquests casos l’alteraci\u00f3 no est\u00e0 ni en el genoma ni el proteoma, vam pensar que havia de trobar-se al transcriptoma, \u00e9s a dir, dins la mol\u00e8cula d’ARN<\/em>“, comenta el Dr. Esteller. “En els darrers anys, ens hem adonat que el nostre ARN est\u00e0 altament regulat i si a nivell d’ADN nom\u00e9s dos o tres modificacions el controlen, poden existir centenars de petits canvis en l’ARN que controlen la seva estabilitat, la seva localitzaci\u00f3 intracel\u00b7lular o la seva maduraci\u00f3 en els \u00e9ssers vius<\/em>\u201d. <\/p>\n En c\u00e8l\u00b7lules humanes, aquest camp s’ha comen\u00e7at a estudiar en detall en els \u00faltims cinc anys. “Per exemple, ara sabem que l’ARN es pot metilar igual que l’ADN i de forma altament espec\u00edfica<\/em>“, comenta el Dr. Manel Esteller, “i encara m\u00e9s recentment hem observat que aquestes modicacions epigen\u00e8tiques de l’ARN poden ser claus en la regulaci\u00f3 de els ARN “guardians”, anomenats ARN no codificants\u201d.<\/em> El nostre Genoma est\u00e0 format pel nostre ADN (\u00c0cid Desoxirribonucleic) en forma de 6,000 milions de peces que combinen quatre “sabors”: A, C, G i T (Adenina, Citosina, Guanina i Timina). \u00c9s el nostre Abecedari.
