El grup de recerca en Neurobiologia Cel\u00b7lular i Molecular de l’Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) i de l’Institut de Neuroci\u00e8ncies de la Universitat de Barcelona (UB) liderat pel Dr. Artur Llobet<\/strong> ha publicat un estudi que revela que els microt\u00fabuls, a m\u00e9s de la seva funci\u00f3 estructural coneguda dins les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules, tamb\u00e9 exerceixen una influ\u00e8ncia activa en la comunicaci\u00f3 neuronal.<\/p>\n

L’estudi, publicat a la revista Communications Biology<\/em><\/a> mostra un augment significatiu en la freq\u00fc\u00e8ncia de l’alliberaci\u00f3 espont\u00e0nia de neurotransmissors quan els microt\u00fabuls es despolimeritzen. La conseq\u00fc\u00e8ncia \u00e9s una major comunicaci\u00f3 neuronal sense necessitat de rebre est\u00edmuls externs espec\u00edfics.<\/p>\n

Tal com explica la Dra. Cec\u00edlia Velasco<\/strong>, primera autora del treball i membre de la Facultat de Medicina i Ci\u00e8ncies de la Salut de la UB, a qualsevol sinapsi qu\u00edmica, els terminals presin\u00e0ptics alliberen els neurotransmissors en resposta a un senyal el\u00e8ctric, definint aix\u00ed les bases de la comunicaci\u00f3 neuronal. Ara b\u00e9, una petita part dels neurotransmissors s’alliberen espont\u00e0niament, sense necessitat de l’arribada d’un est\u00edmul. Com i per qu\u00e8 aix\u00f2 passa encara \u00e9s una inc\u00f2gnita que aquest treball mira de desentrellar.<\/p>\n

L’estudi s’ha centrat en el paper dels microt\u00fabuls, que s\u00f3n un element del citoesquelet cel\u00b7lular que cont\u00ednuament estan creixent i decreixent. Aquesta propietat determina m\u00faltiples funcions cel\u00b7lulars com poden ser la divisi\u00f3 o el moviment cel\u00b7lular. Per primera vegada, s’ha observat com la din\u00e0mica dels microt\u00fabuls tamb\u00e9 \u00e9s rellevant per l’alliberament espontani de neurotransmissors. Els resultats de l’estudi suggereixen que les vies moleculars que promouen l’escur\u00e7ament dels microt\u00fabuls podrien ser utilitzades per les neurones per establir la comunicaci\u00f3 neuronal en abs\u00e8ncia de senyals el\u00e8ctrics.<\/p>\n

Aquest descobriment obre la possibilitat a explicar els mecanismes que promouen els alts nivells d’alliberament espontani de neurotransmissors que es donen durant les etapes primerenques del desenvolupament. La identificaci\u00f3 d’un mecanisme que pot ser clau en l’assemblatge dels circuits neuronals porta a considerar l’estabilitat de microt\u00fabuls no solament com un determinant clau de la connectivitat sin\u00e0ptica, sin\u00f3 tamb\u00e9 com una nova diana farmacol\u00f2gica capa\u00e7 de regular l’alliberament de neurotransmissors.<\/p>\n
