Els aliments d’origen vegetal han estat reconeguts hist\u00f2ricament per ser beneficiosos per a la salut, ja que s\u00f3n rics en compostos bioactius que els fan nutricionalment molt interessants com vitamines, fibra o polifenols. Aquests \u00faltims es troben en fruites, verdures, cereals integrals, cacau, oli d’oliva, vi negre, te o caf\u00e8. A la nostra dieta, s’han identificat prop de 500 polifenols individuals de diferents classes i subclasses.<\/p>\n
Els polifenols han demostrat tenir propietats antioxidants i antiinflamat\u00f2ries entre d’altres, a m\u00e9s, podrien prevenir o retardar el risc d’obesitat i malalties associades com la diabetis, alguns tipus de c\u00e0ncers o malalties cardiovasculars.<\/p>\n
L’equip de recerca en nutrici\u00f3 i c\u00e0ncer de l’Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) i l’Institut Catalan d’Oncologia (ICO) han avaluat l’associaci\u00f3 entre el consum de polifenols i el canvi de pes corporal.<\/p>\n
Els resultats, publicats en revistes cient\u00edfiques Antioxidants<\/em> <\/a>i Obesity<\/em><\/a>, mostren que la ingesta de la majoria de polifenols est\u00e0 associada a un manteniment o un augment inferior de pes, destacant els presents en fruites, verdures, oli d’oliva, t\u00e9, cacau o cereals integrals. Curiosament, observem que aquells polifenols classificats com a \u00e0cids hidroxicin\u00e0mics del caf\u00e8, per\u00f2 no els d’altres fonts diet\u00e8tiques, estan associats a un lleuger augment de pes, cosa que suggereix que podrien tenir diferents papers segons el menjar del qual procedeixen.<\/p>\n Els investigadors afirmen: “Aquest estudi ha ajudat a identificar polifenols i aliments rics en polifenols que podrien ser rellevants per al control i la p\u00e8rdua de pes, aix\u00ed com per desenvolupar estudis d’intervenci\u00f3 per a investigar aquests compostos com a marcadors associats a l’obesitat i la salut cardiometab\u00f2lica i determinar els seus possibles mecanismes d’acci\u00f3<\/em>“.<\/p>\n Les dades utilitzades es van obtenir de l’Estudi Europeu Prospectiu en C\u00e0ncer i Nutrici\u00f3 (EPIC), del qual gaireb\u00e9 350.000 persones de 9 pa\u00efsos europeus van ser incloses: Alemanya, Dinamarca, Espanya, Fran\u00e7a, It\u00e0lia, Noruega, Pa\u00efsos Baixos, Pa\u00efsos Baixos, Pa\u00efsos Baixos, Regne Unit i Regne Unit i Su\u00e8cia. En el reclutament, la dieta, les dades de l’estil de vida, les mesures antropom\u00e8triques i la hist\u00f2ria cl\u00ednica de cada participant es van registrar. A m\u00e9s, es va incloure informaci\u00f3 de pes durant el seguiment, de mitjana 5 anys, cosa que va permetre avaluar els canvis en el pes corporal.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n L\u2019Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) \u00e9s un centre de recerca en biomedicina creat l\u2019any 2004. Est\u00e0 participat per l’Hospital Universitari de Bellvitge i l\u2019Hospital de Viladecans de l’Institut Catal\u00e0 de la Salut, l’Institut Catal\u00e0 d’Oncologia, la Universitat de Barcelona i l\u2019Ajuntament de l\u2019Hospitalet de Llobregat.<\/em><\/p>\n L\u2019IDIBELL \u00e9s membre del Campus d’Excel\u00b7l\u00e8ncia Internacional de la Universitat de Barcelona HUBc i forma part de la instituci\u00f3 CERCA de la Generalitat de Catalunya. L’any 2009 es va convertir en un dels cinc primers centres d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 espanyols acreditats com a institut d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 sanit\u00e0ria per l\u2019Instituto de Salud Carlos III. A m\u00e9s, forma part del programa \u201cHR Excellence in Research\u201d de la Uni\u00f3 Europea i \u00e9s membre de EATRIS i REGIC.
