Un treball publicat a la revista Cell Reports<\/a> <\/em>descriu el desenvolupament d’un nou sistema basat en c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare per generar neurofibromes, tumors del sistema nervi\u00f3s perif\u00e8ric. Aquests tumors es desenvolupen en persones que tenen una malaltia heredit\u00e0ria molt prevalent, 1 de cada 3000 persones, anomenada Neurofibromatosis de tipus 1, i constitueixen la causa principal de mortalitat entre aquests pacients.<\/p>\n

Fins ara, mancava un model robust de neurofibromes humans en ratolins on poder provar nous tractaments. Aquest treball, que ha comptat amb la participaci\u00f3 d’investigadors del programa de medicina regenerativa de l’IDIBELL i el P-CMRC, investigadors del programa d’investigaci\u00f3 en c\u00e0ncer Oncobell de l’IDIBELL i de l’ICO, i que ha estat liderat pel grup de C\u00e0ncer Hereditari de l’IGTP, representa un salt important en la modelitzaci\u00f3 d’aquests tumors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

L’originalitat del treball recau en la utilitzaci\u00f3 d’un sistema de cultiu 3D, compost per c\u00e8l\u00b7lules de Schwann, derivades de c\u00e8l\u00b7lules mare humanes, i fibroblasts, isolats dels tumors dels pacients, els dos tipus cel\u00b7lulars principals dels neurofibromes. L’avantatge que ofereix aquest nou model \u00e9s que se’n poden generar moltes esferes, i per tant, permeten avaluar m\u00faltiples f\u00e0rmacs al mateix temps<\/strong>. A m\u00e9s, quan aquestes esferes s’implanten en el nervi ci\u00e0tic d’un ratol\u00ed, s\u00f3n capaces de generar neurofibromes humans, demostrant que representen un model fidedigne.<\/p>\n

Finalment, a partir de neurofibromes de pacients tamb\u00e9 se n’ha estudiat l’heterogene\u00eftat cel\u00b7lular a partir de l’an\u00e0lisi de c\u00e8l\u00b7lula \u00fanica. Aix\u00f2 ha perm\u00e8s disposar d’una radiografia m\u00e9s clara i completa de la composici\u00f3 cel\u00b7lular d’aquest tipus de tumors, ajudant a entendre millor aquests tumors i a dissenyar nous potencials f\u00e0rmacs.<\/p>\n

Aquest treball tamb\u00e9 ha comptat amb la participaci\u00f3 del Centre de Regulaci\u00f3 Gen\u00f2mica (CRG-CNAG) i el Servei d’Anatomia Patol\u00f2gica de l’Hospital de la Vall d’Hebron.<\/p>\n

L\u2019Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) \u00e9s un centre de recerca en biomedicina creat l\u2019any 2004. L\u2019IDIBELL \u00e9s membre del Campus d’Excel\u00b7l\u00e8ncia Internacional de la Universitat de Barcelona HUBc i forma part de la instituci\u00f3 CERCA de la Generalitat de Catalunya. L’any 2009 es va convertir en un dels cinc primers centres d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 espanyols acreditats com a institut d\u2019investigaci\u00f3 sanit\u00e0ria per l\u2019Instituto de Salud Carlos III. A m\u00e9s, forma part del programa \u201cHR Excellence in Research\u201d de la Uni\u00f3 Europea i \u00e9s membre de EATRIS i REGIC.
