L’Associaci\u00f3 Espanyola Contra el C\u00e0ncer (AECC<\/a>) ha seleccionat el projecte del Dr. \u00d3scar Mart\u00ednez-Tirado<\/strong>, cap del grup de recerca en sarcoma de l’Institut d’Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL<\/a>), per rebre una de les seves noves ajudes “AECC Innova<\/strong>“. Aquests ajuts pretenen donar suport als grups de recerca a la transfer\u00e8ncia dels resultats de laboratori al mercat. De moment l’AECC ha dotat amb 180.000 euros per a dos anys a tres dels projectes de recerca m\u00e9s ambiciosos i amb m\u00e9s potencial, entre els quals es troba el projecte del Dr. Mart\u00ednez-Tirado.<\/p>\n

Una nova via terap\u00e8utica per al sarcoma d’Ewing<\/h3>\n

El sarcoma d’Ewing \u00e9s un tumor ossi molt agressiu que afecta principalment a nens i adolescents. Aquest tipus de c\u00e0ncer se segueix tractant igual que 20 anys enrere, utilitzant tractaments molt agressius, que produeixen greus efectes secundaris, i nom\u00e9s aconsegueixen salvar 6 de cada 10 pacients. Ara, l’ajuda AECC Innova permetr\u00e0 el Dr. \u00d2scar Mart\u00ednez-Tirado desenvolupar una nova via terap\u00e8utica per aquest tipus de tumor.<\/p>\n

L’equip del Dr. Mart\u00ednez-Tirado validar\u00e0 per a l\u2019\u00fas cl\u00ednic unes nanopart\u00edcules<\/strong>, pr\u00e8viament estudiades en el seu laboratori amb resultats prometedors, que funcionen com petits drons capa\u00e7os de viatjar pel cos del pacient fins a arribar a les c\u00e8l\u00b7lules canceroses i eliminar-les de manera selectiva.<\/p>\n

Aquesta aproximaci\u00f3 podria obrir la porta a un tractament personalitzat<\/strong> m\u00e9s efica\u00e7 i segur per a pacients amb sarcoma d’Ewing. A m\u00e9s, aquesta tecnologia es podria adaptar per utilitzar-se en el tractament d’altres tipus de tumors.<\/p>\n
