\u2022 Malgrat la prohibici\u00f3 de fumar a l\u2019interior dels locals de restauraci\u00f3 i oci, les pipes d\u2019aigua, conegudes popularment com \u2018catximbes\u2019, s\u2019utilitzen sense cap mena de restricci\u00f3. Aix\u00f2 provoca que en aquests locals es detectin nivells de nicotina en l\u2019aire i de part\u00edcules fines per sobre dels nivells recomanats d\u2019exposici\u00f3.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Fumar en pipes d\u2019aigua, i l\u2019exposici\u00f3 passiva al fum que produeixen, augmenten el risc de patir c\u00e0ncer de pulm\u00f3 i altres malalties cardiovasculars. \u00c9s per aquest motiu que caldria regular-ne el seu \u00fas i garantir el compliment de la normativa.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2022 Aquests resultats, fruit del primer estudi d\u2019aquestes caracter\u00edstiques que s\u2019ha realitzat a l\u2019Estat espanyol i a Europa, s\u2019han publicat a la revista cient\u00edfica \u2018Environmental Research\u2019, especialitzada en recerca mediambiental i salut. El treball ha estat encap\u00e7alat per investigadores de la Unitat de Control del Tabac de l\u2019Institut Catal\u00e0 d\u2019Oncologia (ICO)<\/strong>-Institut d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) i ha comptat amb la col\u00b7laboraci\u00f3 d\u2019investigadores de la Universitat d\u2019Alcal\u00e1 de Henares i de l\u2019Ag\u00e8ncia de Salut P\u00fablica de Barcelona.<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Les pipes d\u2019aigua<\/strong>, conegudes popularment com a \u2018catximbes\u2019 o \u2018xixes\u2019, s\u00f3n una forma relativament nova de fumar tabac en el nostre entorn, sobretot entre les persones joves. No obstant, el seu consum i l\u2019exposici\u00f3 passiva a la seva utilitzaci\u00f3 no est\u00e0 exempt de perill, ja que fa augmentar el risc de patir c\u00e0ncer de pulm\u00f3, malalties respirat\u00f2ries i cardiovasculars a causa dels t\u00f2xics derivats del tabac i les part\u00edcules fines que emeten.<\/p>\n Un estudi realitzat per la Unitat de Control del Tabac de l\u2019Institut Catal\u00e0 d\u2019Oncologia (ICO<\/a>) – Institut d\u2019Investigaci\u00f3 Biom\u00e8dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL<\/a>) en 20 locals de la ciutat de Barcelona on es fuma amb \u2018xixes\u2019 de forma habitual, demostra la pres\u00e8ncia de nicotina i de part\u00edcules fines en l\u2019atmosfera en aquests locals<\/strong>. Aquest \u00e9s el primer estudi d\u2019aquestes caracter\u00edstiques realitzat a l\u2019Estat espanyol i a Europa i ha estat publicat per la revista cient\u00edfica \u2018Environmental Research\u2019, especialitzada en recerca mediambiental i salut.<\/p>\n L\u2019equip que ha analitzat aquestes dades ha estat encap\u00e7alat per investigadores de la Unitat de Control del Tabac de l\u2019ICO-IDIBELL i ha comptat amb la participaci\u00f3 d\u2019investigadores de la Universitat d\u2019Alcal\u00e1 i de l\u2019Ag\u00e8ncia de Salut P\u00fablica de Barcelona, en el marc del Consorci de Recerca Biom\u00e8dica en Xarxa (CIBER) de l\u2019Instituto de Salud Carlos III.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A l\u2019Estat espanyol, malgrat la prohibici\u00f3 de fumar a l\u2019interior dels locals de restauraci\u00f3, l\u2019\u00fas de pipes d\u2019aigua s\u2019est\u00e0 popularitzant donada la creen\u00e7a que s\u00f3n productes innocus, sense tabac, pel seus aromes afruitats i gust dol\u00e7. Si b\u00e9 es poden consumir amb productes derivats d\u2019herbes diverses, sense tabac, la major part de preparats s\u00ed que en tenen, com demostra aquest estudi on 19 dels 20 locals analitzats tenien nicotina en l\u2019ambient i en concentracions elevades.<\/p>\n La nicotina \u00e9s un marcador espec\u00edfic i \u00fanic de la combusti\u00f3 de tabac, en aquest cas en les pipes d\u2019aigua. Els elevats nivells de part\u00edcules fines provenen del mateix tabac i dels carbonets incandescents que contenen les pipes. Aix\u00ed doncs, els resultats indiquen que, tot i estar prohibit el consum de productes del tabac a l\u2019interior de bars, cafeteries o restaurants, l\u2019estudi detecta nivells elevats de nicotina (1,15 microgr\/m3 de mitjana, amb valors de fins a 8,16 microgr\/m3) i de part\u00edcules fines (mitjana de 230,5 microgr\/m3, valor m\u00e0xim de 1758,10 microgr\/m3), molt per sobre dels nivells mesurats en punts control a la via p\u00fablica, de 0,03 microgr\/m3 de nicotina i 10 microgr\/m3 de part\u00edcules fines.<\/p>\n Segons la primera signant de l\u2019estudi i investigadora de l\u2019ICO-IDIBELL, Ariadna Feliu, \u201caquestes dades demostren que cal regular amb m\u00e9s detall l\u2019\u00fas de les pipes d\u2019aigua, amb o sense tabac, atesa la gran concentraci\u00f3 de part\u00edcules fines que produeixen i que s\u00f3n un risc per a la salut\u201d. <\/em>Per la seva banda Marcela Fu, co-autora de l\u2019article i investigadora de l\u2019ICO-IDIBELL, recorda que \u201cles pipes d\u2019aigua s\u00f3n una porta d\u2019entrada a l\u2019addicci\u00f3 a la nicotina entre els joves i adolescents que porta al consum d\u2019altres formes de tabac\u201d. <\/em>I tot aix\u00f2 en un context com el que estem vivint en aquests moments, en situaci\u00f3 de pand\u00e8mia global a causa de la COVID-19<\/strong>, en el que el director d\u2019Epidemiologia i Prevenci\u00f3 de l\u2019ICO i responsable de l\u2019estudi, Esteve Fern\u00e1ndez, remarca que \u201cl\u2019\u00fas compartit de les pipes d\u2019aigua entre diverses persones i el fum exhalat
