No hay leche en la primera gestaci\u00f3n, pero s\u00ed en la segunda<\/strong><\/p>\nCuando se elimina RANK en las c\u00e9lulas luminales antes de que haya habido gestaci\u00f3n, estas c\u00e9lulas empiezan a diferenciarse de forma aberrante en otras responsables de la fabricaci\u00f3n de la leche en s\u00ed, llamadas alveolares. Pero la primera lactancia resulta fallida, porque estas c\u00e9lulas alveolares aberrantes no son capaces de producir leche.<\/p>\n
En la segunda gestaci\u00f3n las c\u00e9lulas luminales son a\u00fan m\u00e1s disfuncionales. Esto alerta a las c\u00e9lulas basales, que recuperan su capacidad de diferenciarse en c\u00e9lulas luminales alveolares, ahora s\u00ed competentes para producir leche. La lactancia, en esta segunda gestaci\u00f3n, resulta por tanto exitosa. Es decir, gracias a esa \u201cacci\u00f3n de rescate\u201d de las c\u00e9lulas basales, que s\u00ed expresan RANK, tiene lugar una lactancia funcional. \u201cEsa capacidad de bipotencia de las c\u00e9lulas basales es capaz de despertar en un contexto fisiol\u00f3gico, para restaurar un proceso tan importante como lactancia\u201d, explica Gonz\u00e1lez-Su\u00e1rez.<\/p>\n
Para la autora responsable del art\u00edculo \u201cresulta muy interesante que, al no tener RANK, las c\u00e9lulas luminales se diferencien en alveolares de forma aberrante, incluso en ratones hembra que no han entrado a\u00fan en gestaci\u00f3n. Y tambi\u00e9n es relevante esa diferencia entre lo que ocurre en la primera y la segunda gestaci\u00f3n\u201d. En cuanto a la posibilidad de que estos procesos tengan un paralelismo en la lactancia humana, considera que \u201ces probable, pero har\u00edan falta estudios para determinarlo\u201d.<\/p>\n
