Los investigadores proponen que GlialCAM se asocia a varias prote\u00ednas de la membrana celular para reclutar y regular su funci\u00f3n, jugando un papel importante en la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n celular.<\/p>\nAmbos trabajos conjuntamente han sugerido que la funci\u00f3n de las prote\u00ednas GlialCAM y MLC1 ser\u00eda la de organizar redes de prote\u00ednas en las uniones de astrocitos<\/strong>, regulando el desarrollo y la actividad neuronal. En 2009 se convirti\u00f3 en uno de los cinco primeros centros de investigaci\u00f3n espa\u00f1oles acreditados como instituto de investigaci\u00f3n sanitaria por el Instituto de Salud Carlos III.
