ModGraProDep es un sistema innovador que, mediante la inteligencia artificial y el dise\u00f1o de modelos probabil\u00edsticos, mejora la predicci\u00f3n de indicadores de supervivencia en enfermos de c\u00e1ncer de mama. Este estudio, publicado en la revista Artificial Intelligence in Medicine<\/em><\/a>, ha sido dirigido por Ramon Cl\u00e8ries, profesor del Departamento de Ciencias Cl\u00ednicas de la Facultad de Medicina y Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Barcelona (UB) y miembro del Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL).<\/p>\n

El nuevo trabajo ha sido desarrollado por un amplio equipo de expertos en epidemiolog\u00eda, oncolog\u00eda y gesti\u00f3n de datos del Plan Director de Oncolog\u00eda-IDIBELL, la Universidad de Barcelona (UB), la Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Catalu\u00f1a (UPC), el Instituto Catal\u00e1n de Oncolog\u00eda (ICO), el Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Girona (IDIBGI), la Universidad de Girona (UdG), la Universidad de Alicante (UA), el CIBER de Epidemiolog\u00eda y Salud P\u00fablica (CIBERESP), el Instituto de Salud Carlos III, el Hospital Universitario Sant Joan de Reus, el Servicio de Oncolog\u00eda M\u00e9dica del Hospital Josep Trueta de Girona, los Registros de C\u00e1ncer de Girona y Tarragona, y la entidad MC Mutual.<\/p>\n

Modelitzaci\u00f3n matem\u00e1tica: nuevas fronteras en la lucha contra el c\u00e1ncer<\/h3>\n

Predecir la supervivencia de los enfermos es un elemento decisivo para evaluar futuros escenarios de evoluci\u00f3n en los pacientes de c\u00e1ncer y valorar tratamientos. Sin embargo, a menudo esta informaci\u00f3n se tiene que estimar mediante modelos matem\u00e1ticos, ya que no existe una poblaci\u00f3n muestral suficiente para calcular estos indicadores cl\u00ednicos de manera espec\u00edfica.<\/p>\n

Esta nueva metodolog\u00eda ModGraProDep (ModelingGraphicalProbabilistcDependencies) ha impulsado dos estudios coordinados por la profesora Mireia Vilardell, del Departamento de Gen\u00e9tica, Microbiolog\u00eda y Estad\u00edstica de la Facultad de Biolog\u00eda UB, y la investigadora Mar\u00eda Bux\u00f3, del IDIBGI. En el primer estudio, ModGraProDep permite simular una poblaci\u00f3n de pacientes de c\u00e1ncer, a partir de una base de datos reales, para identificar posibles nuevos patrones y calcular indicadores (por ejemplo, la supervivencia de un paciente en funci\u00f3n de sus caracter\u00edsticas). En el segundo estudio, ModGraProDep es capaz de predecir y asignar valores (de manera probabil\u00edstica) a variables de las que no se hab\u00eda podido recoger informaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

El equipo cient\u00edfico tambi\u00e9n ha dise\u00f1ado una aplicaci\u00f3n web, de gran inter\u00e9s cl\u00ednico en el \u00e1mbito de la oncolog\u00eda, que permite obtener una predicci\u00f3n, hasta un m\u00e1ximo de veinte a\u00f1os, de indicadores de supervivencia y riesgo de mortalidad por cada paciente.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
