El estudio se basa en la hip\u00f3tesis de que la m\u00fasica activa partes del cerebro que rigen la actividad motora del cuerpo. Investigaciones previas han confirmado la relaci\u00f3n entre las zonas del cerebro que controlan la audici\u00f3n y los movimientos corporales. A\u00fan as\u00ed, todav\u00eda no se ha realizado ning\u00fan estudio con pacientes que demuestre la efectividad de la m\u00fasica en la recuperaci\u00f3n de la movilidad en personas que han sufrido un ictus.<\/p>\n

La investigaci\u00f3n se aborda desde una perspectiva multidisciplinar que incluye t\u00e9cnicas de neurolog\u00eda, neuropsicolog\u00eda, musicolog\u00eda y neurociencia cognitiva.<\/p>\n

Tocar un instrumento<\/strong><\/p>\n

El proyecto investiga c\u00f3mo se reorganiza el sistema sensorial y motor del cerebro cuando los pacientes aprenden a tocar un instrumento musical (piano y pad electr\u00f3nico) y si esta actividad permite recuperar movilidad en las personas afectadas. Los investigadores comparan la eficacia del nuevo tratamiento musical con la de terapias convencionales de neurorrehabilitaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

Los resultados preliminares, publicados en revistas internacionales, destacan las mejoras observadas en algunos pacientes utilizando esta terapia y en comparaci\u00f3n con otras terapias motoras convencionales.<\/p>\n

Para poder conocer la eficacia del tratamiento y valorar los cambios producidos en el cerebro durante la realizaci\u00f3n de las pruebas, los investigadores usan varias t\u00e9cnicas de neuroimagen tras la aplicaci\u00f3n de las diferentes terapias de neurorrehabilitaci\u00f3n: electroencefalograf\u00eda, resonancia magn\u00e9tica y estimulaci\u00f3n magn\u00e9tica transcortical.<\/p>\n

Los investigadores esperan obtener informaci\u00f3n sobre los mecanismos fisiol\u00f3gicos producidos por la terapia musical, cosa que podr\u00eda permitir desarrollar nuevas t\u00e9cnicas de rehabilitaci\u00f3n en pacientes que han sufrido un accidente vascular cerebral.<\/p>\n

El coordinador del estudio, Antoni Rodr\u00edguez Fornells (investigador ICREA), destaca la dificultad de conseguir pacientes para participar voluntariamente en el estudio: \u201cla investigaci\u00f3n requiere una cantidad considerable de pacientes que hayan sufrido un ictus isqu\u00e9mico o hemorr\u00e1gico con p\u00e9rdida importante de movilidad en las extremidades superiores, pero que tengan movilidad suficiente como para poder participar en el estudio\u201d.<\/p>\n

El proyecto est\u00e1 financiado por La Marat\u00f3 de TV3 y cuenta con la participaci\u00f3n de investigadores de la Universidad de Magdeburgo (Alemania) y del Servicio de Neurolog\u00eda del Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
