El estudio publicado por la revista Cell Reports, es el resultado de la colaboraci\u00f3n del equipo de Juli\u00e1n Cer\u00f3n en el grupo de quimiorresistencia y factores predictores de respuesta tumoral y medio ambiente estromal del IDIBELL con los grupos de Ben Lehner y Juan Valc\u00e1rcel del Centro de Regulaci\u00f3n Gen\u00f3mica (CRG). Los investigadores han descrito la influencia de genes antisentido y de peque\u00f1os ARN de interferencia end\u00f3genos (siRNAs) en la regulaci\u00f3n del gen TOR, un gen altamente conservado en eucariotas que regula el crecimiento y el metabolismo de organismos en respuesta a nutrientes.
Los autores del estudio han demostrado que este mecanismo influye en la fertilidad del animal. \u00abSi manipulamos la expresi\u00f3n de TOR y el balance de sus isoformas\u00bb explic\u00f3 Cer\u00f3n \u00absomos capaces de revertir la infertilidad que se transmite epigen\u00e9ticamente entre generaciones de animales mutados\u00bb.
