Virginia Nunes y el Dr. Manuel Palac\u00edn, profesores de la UB e investigadores del Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) y el Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Barcelona (IRB Barcelona), respectivamente, a la vez que responsables de las unidades 730 y U731 del Ciber de Enfermedades raras (CIBERER) han identificado la prote\u00edna AGT1\/rBAT como un nuevo transportador de amino\u00e1cidos en ri\u00f1\u00f3n. El complejo est\u00e1 implicado en la reabsorci\u00f3n de cistina en el segmento S3 del t\u00fabulo proximal. Los resultados, obtenidos conjuntamente con el grupo del Prof Kanai, de la Universidad de Osaka, han sido publicados en la revista PNAS. <b><br \/> El defecto en otro transportador de amino\u00e1cidos ya conocido, b0,+AT\/rBAT, causa cistinuria en humanos (presencia de amino\u00e1cidos dib\u00e1sicos en la orina, tales como la cistina o la lisina), la aminoaciduria hereditaria m\u00e1s frecuente.
