Investigadores del Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) y del Instituto de Investigaciones Biom\u00e9dicas August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) han participado en el trabajo publicado recientemente en la revista Journal Investigative Dermatology, que lleva por t\u00edtulo \u00abAURORA A overexpression (Aurken) is driven by FOXM1 and MAPK \/ ERK activaci\u00f3n in melanoma cells harbouring BRAF oro NRAS Mutations: Impact on melanoma prognosis and therapy \u00ab.
\nLos autores describen que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de AURKA (Aurora Kinasa A, prote\u00edna implicada en el control del ciclo celular), se asocia a un peor pron\u00f3stico en los enfermos de melanoma cut\u00e1neo. La expresi\u00f3n de esta prote\u00edna depende de factores de transcripci\u00f3n como FOXM1 y de la activaci\u00f3n de las v\u00edas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n MAPK-ERK, a menudo debida a la presencia de mutaciones NRAS o BRAF. Sin embargo, la inhibici\u00f3n farmacol\u00f3gica o el silenciamiento de AURKA y FOXM1 afecta a la proliferaci\u00f3n y supervivencia de las c\u00e9lulas de melanoma, incluso aquellas resistentes a los inhibidores de BRAF. Los excelentes resultados en estudios pre-cl\u00ednicos sugieren que el uso de inhibidores de Aurken y FOXM1 puede beneficiar a los pacientes de melanoma resistentes a las terapias anti-BRAF y \/ o en portadores de mutaciones NRAS, hasta ahora hu\u00e9rfanos de terapias adecuadas .
