It will be led byJuli\u00e1n Cer\u00f3n, of the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.idibell.cat\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute<\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Idibell), and<\/p>\n<p>Denis Dupuy, of the<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iecb.u-bordeaux.fr\/index.php\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">European <span class=\"enllac\">Institute of Chemistry and Biology<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(IECB). <\/p>\n<p> The project is entitled<\/p>\n<p>Functional genomic analysis of the SM-like protein family in<\/p>\n<p><em>C. elegans<\/em><\/p>\n<p>and over the coming four months will be carried out in order to allow for scientific progress in understanding the regulation of LSM genes in<\/p>\n<p><em>C. elegans<\/em>, a worm often used as a model organism in genetic development studies. The joint<\/p>\n<p>Catalan and French teamwill have all the techniques needed for genetic analysis of this family of proteins: on one hand, Dupuy\u2019s team specializes in quantitative large-scale measurement of gene expression, while Cer\u00f3n\u2019s laboratory concentrates on analysis of<\/p>\n<p><em>in vivo<\/em><\/p>\n<p>of fluorescence.<\/p>\n<p> Novaptech, the IECB\u2019s technology-transfer unit, will also participate in the project.
