Maria Eul\u00e0lia Juv\u00e9 and Jordi Adamuz, both members of the IDIBELL Nursing research group<\/a> have participated in the recent publication of Mentoring in Nursing by Narrative Stories Across the World<\/a>, a book that gives voice to the narrative stories of more than 300 international mentors, who explain their cases of clinical application based on the evidence and dissemination of nursing education and research.<\/p>\n

The publication demonstrates how mentoring and disciplinary knowledge tools are applied in nursing and how they impact people’s health outcomes. All the chapters are built using the combination of storytelling techniques and evidence analysis.<\/p>\n

This is a project promoted by the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, the second largest nursing organization in the world, and has the support of leading global organizations in the field of nursing such as the International Council of Nurses, the National League for Nursing and Princeton University.<\/p>\n

In their article “Knowledge of nursing tools and strategies to improve patient outcomes and the work environment”, Juv\u00e9 and Adamuz explain the use of ATIC, a nursing knowledge architecture project through an interface nursing language.<\/p>\n

ATIC is a terminology and set of nursing knowledge tools (ontologies, archetypes, patient classification systems, indicators, etc.) that includes a standardized vocabulary, concept-oriented, validated and used in practice for more than 10 years, which is already used in the 8 ICS hospitals.<\/p>\n

Both authors also refer to the ARES project, a program for the harmonization of care delivery standards that aims to support clinical decision-making by nurses in their daily care practice to minimize its variability.<\/p>\n

These projects, led by Juv\u00e9, are pioneers throughout Catalonia and have established themselves as an important driver of knowledge and improvement.<\/p>\n

In his doctoral thesis, entitled “Evaluation of the validity of a nursing interface terminology”, Juv\u00e9 validated the ATIC terminology as a standardized language of care, and this terminology is currently used in the eight hospitals of the Institut Catal\u00e0 de la Salut (ICS) and in primary care centers of the same institute, among other centers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
