{"id":22866,"date":"2023-07-24T09:04:55","date_gmt":"2023-07-24T07:04:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/idibell.cat\/en\/?p=22866"},"modified":"2023-07-24T10:30:20","modified_gmt":"2023-07-24T08:30:20","slug":"new-collaboration-with-blue-zone-studio-to-create-an-ocd-monitoring-application","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/idibell.cat\/en\/2023\/07\/new-collaboration-with-blue-zone-studio-to-create-an-ocd-monitoring-application\/","title":{"rendered":"New collaboration with Blue Zone Studio to create an OCD monitoring application"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A team of scientists from the <a href=\"https:\/\/idibell.cat\/en\/research\/neuroscience-area\/neuroscience-program\/psychiatry-and-mental-health\/\">Psychiatry and Mental Health<\/a> research group of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) and the Bellvitge University Hospital (HUB) started a collaboration with the company Blue Zone Digital Studio to develop a mobile application that allows monitoring of OCD patients. This would help to <strong>identify new biomarkers that predict the evolution of the disease<\/strong> in the long term.<\/p>\n<p>The development of this application is part of a research project financed with almost 400,000 euros by La Marat\u00f3 de TV3 and Catalunya R\u00e0dio with the following participants: IDIBELL, Hospital de Bellvitge, Hospital Cl\u00ednic de Barcelona, and the University of Barcelona.<\/p>\n<p>The app includes five questions that patients or their caregivers for children must answer about once a week. The <strong>questions summarize five characteristics of the disease<\/strong>, for example, if they have been aware of the obsessive symptoms or if they invested a lot of time in the symptoms.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the monitoring through the application, the medical team will be able to know in real-time the evolution of the patients: if they improve or not, or if they remain stable. In addition, this follow-up will be complemented by a <strong>neuroimaging study to unravel what changes in the brain<\/strong> are responsible for this evolution.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>In the long term, the follow-up through the application can help us identify the exact moment when a treatment begins to work or not<\/em>, -says <strong>Dr. Carles Soriano<\/strong>, principal investigator at IDIBELL and the University of Barcelona and one of the project coordinators- <em>and allows us to complement it with other tests that reveal predictive biomarkers<\/em>.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>El Instituto de Investigaci\u00f3n Biom\u00e9dica de Bellvitge (IDIBELL) es un centro de investigaci\u00f3n en biomedicina creado en 2004. Adem\u00e1s, forma parte del programa &#8220;HR Excellence in Research&#8221; de la Uni\u00f3n Europea y es miembro de EATRIS y REGIC.
