Valle de la Riva, President of the Foundation, presented the check during the first day of the Puig Vela Cl\u00e0ssica Barcelona to M\u00f3nica Povedano, principal investigator of the IDIBELL <a href=\"https:\/\/idibell.cat\/en\/research\/neuroscience-area\/neuroscience-program\/neurologic-diseases-and-neurogenetics\/\">Neurological and Neurogenetic Diseases<\/a> research group and head of the Bellvitge Hospital Motor Neuron Disease Functional Unit and Orla Hardiman, Professor of Neurology at Trinity College Dublin.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation promoted &#8220;La Vela con la ELA&#8221; project in April to honor the memory of Nicol\u00e1s Anglada Jan\u00e9. In gratitude to the donors, the Foundation has contributed to the production of the book \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/idibell.cat\/en\/2023\/05\/tanicotaki-the-cookbook-to-raise-funds-for-als-reaches-its-second-edition\/\">Tanicotaki \u2013 Cocinando sin l\u00edmites<\/a>\u201d, a recipe book promoted by Nicol\u00e1s and which sold out weeks after its publication.<\/p>\n<p>These funds will allow IDIBELL to advance the research for a cure for this devastating disease. It is participated by the Bellvitge University Hospital and the Viladecans Hospital of the Catalan Institute of Health, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, the University of Barcelona and the City Council of L&#8217;Hospitalet de Llobregat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>IDIBELL is a member of the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Barcelona HUBc and is part of the CERCA institution of the Generalitat de Catalunya. In 2009 it became one of the first five Spanish research centers accredited as a health research institute by the Carlos III Health Institute. In addition, it is part of the &#8220;HR Excellence in Research&#8221; program of the European Union and is a member of EATRIS and REGIC.
