The event was attended by Merc\u00e8 Falip, principal investigator of the Neurological Diseases and Neurogenetics research group, who thanked the association for its effort and commitment to promoting research as a tool to improve the life qualityof epilepsy patients, a disease that affects 50 million people worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>The association &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/sijopuctutambeepilep.org\/\">If I can, you too #epilep<\/a>&#8221; was created in 2018 to raise awareness about epilepsy. Little by little, the association has become bigger, and now they have several ongoing projects.<\/p>\n<p>Among them, one of the most outstanding is <a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/donaci\u00f3_Juanillo\">Juanillo&#8217;s solidarity kilometers on a motorcycle<\/a>. He is a motorcyclist traveling around the world, more than 100,000 kilometers, to support the association and raise funds for epilepsy research. He is currently in Cambodia and plans to finish it on March 26, 2023, World Epilepsy Day.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the association also organizes and participates in multiple charity races to raise awareness of the disease and raise funds. An example is Dani Jim\u00e9nez, a runner who has set out to run a weekly marathon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If I can, you too #epilep&#8221; completes its activity with cultural outings, fairs, solidarity markets, Zumba classes, or magic shows.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) is a biomedical research center created in 2004. It is participated by the Bellvitge University Hospital and the Viladecans Hospital of the Catalan Institute of Health, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, the University of Barcelona and the City Council of L&#8217;Hospitalet de Llobregat.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>IDIBELL is a member of the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Barcelona HUBc and is part of the CERCA institution of the Generalitat de Catalunya. In 2009 it became one of the first five Spanish research centers accredited as a health research institute by the Carlos III Health Institute. In addition, it is part of the &#8220;HR Excellence in Research&#8221; program of the European Union and is a member of EATRIS and REGIC.
