Pessics de Ci\u00e8ncia was born in 2003 in the Sant Josep Cultural Center, a facility of the Hospitalet de Llobregat City Council. Initially organized scientific events on a discontinuous basis. In 2007, a clear commitment was made to make the Pessics de Ci\u00e8ncia project the main work program of the cultural center, and activities began to be scheduled in a stable and continuous manner. Starting in 2009, this work will be further enhanced by scheduling weekly activities. Since then, he has regularly participated in the Science Week, organized by the Catalan Foundation for Research and Innovation, and since 2012 he has been collaborating on a special program with the World Brain Awareness Week (BAW).<\/p>\n

During these years, Pessics de Ci\u00e8ncia has established itself as a benchmark in the dissemination of science and technology in L\u2019Hospitalet. It has brought science closer to the public under the principles of equity, equality and social cohesion, always faithful to the rigor and expertise of its contents and collaborators.<\/p>\n

IDIBELL has collaborated, and still collaborates, with this project by organizing conferences and other scientific outreach activities. Now, Joan Duran, a member of the Communication and Fundraising Unit of IDIBELL, is joining the Scientific Committee of Pessics de Ci\u00e8ncia, together with representatives of other scientific entities in Catalonia. The signing of the Committee was formalized on March 10, 2022 and its objectives are to give greater consistency to the project by providing prestige and knowledge, to advise on the main lines of work and to provide a qualitative assessment. Its members have an advisory role in the activities of the project, providing scientific criteria and facilitating contacts for possible participation, and collaborating in conducting activities and talks, either as moderators or speakers.<\/p>\n
