The Diabetes and Metabolism Programme focusses on the research of metabolic regulation and cellular plasticity in obesity and diabetes, as well as on the cellular and regenerative therapy used for its treatment.<\/p>\n

The IDIBELL Diabetes and Metabolism Programme studies the cellular and molecular biology of the pancreatic islet, and in particular the mechanisms of regeneration of pancreatic beta cells and its application to the treatment of diabetes, the role of adipose tissue in metabolic and hormonal alterations that link obesity to diabetes, regulation and metabolic integration in the context of the pathophysiology of chronic processes associated with metabolic disease and cancer, and the signalling pathways involved in the control of cell metabolism in order to obtain new treatment methods through the modification of these metabolic pathways.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\"grup_sense_foto_-_diabetis\"\n
