Corporate Social Responsibility

IDIBELL promotes a model of action from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) perspective that is aimed at:

  • Promoting financial sustainability measures
  • Rationalising and optimising the use of energy resources
  • Improving the work environment and increasing commitment with the company, through the application of measures aimed at people, and especially in the field of equal opportunities for all workers
  • Positioning the organisation as a responsible company in the social and institutional sphere.

IDIBELL’s strength is based on the commitment of the people who work there to the objectives of the institution. Co-ordinated operations and strong communication between professionals has led to the development of a strategy based on promoting research and innovation through interdisciplinary work and cooperation; at the same time, committees work to advance the objectives and the implementation of CSR at the centre.

Global compact

IDIBELL signed the United Nations Global Compact in 2011. This is an initiative whose objective is voluntary commitment to social responsibility by signatory entities from around the world.

This objective is achieved by following ten basic principles in the fields of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption. These principles are based on declarations and universal conventions and are as follows:

Principle 1     Protection of basic human rights
Principle 2     Non-violation of human rights
Principle 3     Freedom of association and collective bargaining
Principle 4     Abolition of forced and compulsory labour
Principle 5     Eradication of child labour
Principle 6     Abolition of labour discrimination
Principle 7     Precautionary approach to environmental challenges
Principle 8     Undertake initiatives to promote environmental respect
Principle 9     Dissemination of ecological techniques
Principle 10   Fight against corruption, extortion and bribery

Through adherence to the Global Compact, we expressed our intention to support and implement these principles within the framework of our sphere of influence. Through the Progress Report, we informed our interest groups and the general public promptly of this commitment.

Global Compact brings value to companies. It helps them to define a vision and a business strategy in accordance with the principles of corporate social responsibility, which ensure the company’s stability.

Created in 2000, Global Compact is the largest corporate initiative for corporate responsibility in the world, with more than 8,000 signatories in over 135 countries, including 1,400 in Spain.
