Translational medicine aims to facilitate the transition of basic research into clinical applications that impact on the health of the patients.

IDIBELL has five research programs (which encompass 25 multidisciplinary teams) under the umbrella of this approach on health research. The topics discussed are diverse and transversal, and address from experimental and clinical approaches, diseases such as diabetes and obesity, cardiovascular and respiratory, infectious or digestive. Within this area, it also highlights the genetic approach to disease and transplants
