A total of 15 people and entities have been awarded for their services to progress and improvement in healthcare.
In the communication of the awards, the Govern highlights that the Bellvitge Hospital, which this year has commemorated its 50th anniversary, is a reference center of maximum complexity and the public, university, and research hospital for 2 million people in the southern axis of Catalonia.
Among other merits, it stands out that it integrates into its projects the focus on improving the patient’s experience and networking with primary care and surrounding hospitals, its orientation towards personalized medicine, and having better imaging and genetic diagnostic tools for cancer and rare diseases.
Also noteworthy is the fact that it has incorporated a new High Precision Diagnostic Center with the first PET/Magnetic Resonance of the Spanish healthcare network, and that it is part of the Bellvitge Biomedical Cluster, a project for the future that integrates different institutions and will mean a breakthrough in digital health, personalized medicine and working with data.
