The IDIBELL Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Ander Gómez as the new Director of Management. Ander has extensive experience in the management and coordination of different business areas, and has worked mainly in the agri-food sector at national level.
He holds a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Zaragoza, and has completed his training with postgraduate studies in Human Resources Management and Financial Management, both at the Deusto Business School. He has also completed a General Management Programme at the University of Navarra, to focus his professional career on business administration, management and strategy. He has almost 20 years of experience in leading positions in various companies in the food industry, even founding his own digital commerce company.
He is an expert in business management, strategy, negotiation, team leadership, talent management and human resources and has a broad understanding of the business landscape. His skills in management and coordination of different business areas make him the ideal and very valuable profile to fill the position of Director of Management of IDIBELL.
Gómez replaces Rosa Benet, Director of Management of IDIBELL since July 2022, to whom Gabriel Capellá, Director of IDIBELL, thanked her for her work. His dedication and skills have been essential to renew teams and establish processes, tools and dynamics of work that allow IDIBELL to be more efficient and financially sound. In this sense, Capellá has expressed that the appointment of Gómez will be an opportunity to continue building on the excellent work of Benet addressing the new challenges facing the Institute.
The Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL) is a biomedical research center created in 2004. It is participated by the Bellvitge University Hospital and the Viladecans Hospital of the Catalan Institute of Health, the Catalan Institute of Oncology, the University of Barcelona and the City Council of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat.
IDIBELL is a member of the Campus of International Excellence of the University of Barcelona HUBc and is part of the CERCA institution of the Generalitat de Catalunya. In 2009 it became one of the first five Spanish research centers accredited as a health research institute by the Carlos III Health Institute. In addition, it is part of the “HR Excellence in Research” program of the European Union and is a member of EATRIS and REGIC. Since 2018, IDIBELL has been an Accredited Center of the AECC Scientific Foundation (FCAECC).
